A resounding yes to all of these. Lessons I have “earned” through much experience.

One of my personal rules is for any new productivity tool, whether paper product, program, or file type, is that I commit to using it for at least 1-2 years before switching to something else. It takes time and patience to adapt to a new system and to tweak it to work for you.

And of course the important thing to ask myself before trying the new shiny object - what advantage does this have over my current system? Can I adapt that idea to my current system?
