Follow the Clues in Archer Mayor’s Exciting “Fall Guy”
On March 9, I started my count-up to 100 books by featuring one book a day on social media until June 16, when I will release Sanctuary in the Stream, the ninth book in the Parks Pat Mysteries series — book number 100 in my catalog! I hope you will follow my journey on your favourite social network

I have just started this one today, so I can’t tell you a whole lot about it yet. Archer Mayor’s Fall Guy is a well-written police procedural suspense mystery novel that is sure to keep readers on the edge of their seats. The story takes place in the small town of Brattleboro, Vermont, and follows the multi-jurisdictional case of a large-scale heist. Mayor does an excellent job of providing realistic detail in how the case is handled, from the leads and clues being chased down by investigators to the intimate relationships between members of a small police department.
The characters are well-rounded and feel like real people who are not just cookie cutters or well-worn tropes. They are like family to each other and provide a “cozy” vibe in contrast to the suspenseful plot line. Mayor also does an excellent job of incorporating Vermont’s history and scenery into the novel. Definitely a series that I would read more of.
