Another hotkey I use a lot is cmd ~ (tilde) to cycle through windows in an app. If you have two spreadsheets open, for instance, or several windows open in your browser that you need to flip between quickly. (And for those who don't know, cmd-click to open a link into a new tab and shift-click to open a link into a new window.)
