I finally got my husband to use an EDC, which makes a huge difference when we are leaving the house. So much nicer to be able to just grab the bag than to run all over the house searching for items at the last moment. His EDC is actually very minimal because he also relies on the items in mine.
My EDC includes:
- power pack with charge cable(s) and mini light
- business cards and bookmarks to give away
- reusable shopping bags (the ones that fold up into tiny squares
- epi pens x2
- ladies' needs
- change for shopping carts
- I have two wallets - a minimalist one with just my driver's license and most-used cards, and another for everything else - even the minimalist one is rarely needed because I tap my phone everywhere possible
- I *do* have a first aid kit and bandaids, which I regularly restock - also a manicure kit with clippers and emery boards because my hubby and son are always catching their nails on stuff
- I also have a medications tin which is mostly used by my husband and son. the first aid kit, manicure kit, and medication tin all go into a pencil case to keep them together and keep them from floating around inside my bag, which does not have enough interior pockets
- chapstick
- cough drops
- tissue pack
- pens - one for autographing books, one that is a cool multitool (ruler, level, stylus, etc.) that I have rarely used, but I love multitools
- sticky notes - you never know when you're going to need them
- cool minimalist notepad with tiny pen which I have actually never used but it is beautiful and I really want to sometime, so I still haven't removed it from my EDC even though it is clearly dead weight.
- a half-letter-size accordion file to keep track of papers that I need to take home or refer to later. I haven't actually used this much and am looking at ditching it.
- sunglasses
- water bottle
I guess my phone and airpods are also part of my EDC kit, but they are almost never actually in my bag. They are in my pocket/attached to my body unless I am wearing a stupid skirt with no pockets.
