I have a quota, timeblocking on my calendar, clocks, and a timer. There's no way I could get my writing done without treating it like a job and protecting those timeslots.

And there's a lot more to publishing than just getting the words down. I need to find time for all of the editing, covers, publishing, marking/promotion, etc. too.
