I respect writers who write slow. I respect writers who write fast. I think you should get a pat on the back whether it takes you a week or 20 years to write a book.
Writers A and B are certainly not the only two options. There are plenty of writers who can and do write a book in a month without burning out. Or who write s as book every month without burning out. And they are still good, not too short or deficient in any way.
Either way. Slow or fast. Let’s be a brotherhood/sisterhood instead of acting like we are in competition and there is only one right way to write.
