To do lists and time blocking/calendaring are not exclusive of each other. Scheduling your tasks isn't ditching the task list, it's just scheduling them.

I do timeblocking every day/week, but it doesn't replace my task list/project manager. I have dozens of projects, many of them 100 tasks or longer. Without an app to keep track of those, timeblocking isn't going to help anything. I'd be lost.
